Nicole Henning is a visual artist who sources fragments from the internet and her photo archive, including scenes from consumer culture and the leisure industry, and arranges them into complex backdrops. These backdrops form the setting for painterly stagings, dramas and games in which various protagonists appear, blend into their colourful surroundings and become part of the object world that surrounds them. Her mise-en-scène deals with the complexities of a modern world in which simulated realities and constructed world views prevail, and emphasises the role of the individual in these contexts.

She holds a Bachelor in Fine Arts and a Master in Transdisciplinarity in the Arts. In addition to her work as a visual artist, she works on a project basis as a stage and costume designer for theater productions.
