Robert Wettstein's work straddles the boundary between art and design, combining experimental openness with craftsmanship. At the same time, his practice is also oriented towards cooperative forms of working.

 

His basic training as an orthopaedic technician – a field that requires individual solutions and a deep understanding of materials and form – forms the basis of his creative approach. He transfers this knowledge to objects and artistic works that are characterised by subtle surprises, poetic impressions or subtle moments of humour.

 

Robert Wettstein holds an MAS in Design / Art and Innovation and a CAS in Materials and Technology. His works have been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Italy, Germany, Australia, the USA and Switzerland. He lives and works in Zurich.
